To the one who took the form of a yakṣa, who wears matted locks and holds the bow Pināka, the eternal; the divine God, clothed in the directions — to him who is the syllable “Ya”, salutation to Śiva.
The last verse, for “Ya”. “The form of a yakṣa” recalls the story of Yakṣeśvara, who humbled the pride of the gods.

यक्षस्वरूपाय जटाधराय
पिनाकहस्ताय सनातनाय ।
दिव्याय देवाय दिगम्बराय
तस्मै यकाराय नमः शिवाय ॥
yakṣa-svarūpāya jaṭā-dharāya
pināka-hastāya sanātanāya |
divyāya devāya digambarāya
tasmai ya-kārāya namaḥ śivāya ||
Translation
To the one who took the form of a yakṣa, who wears matted locks and holds the bow Pināka, the eternal; the divine God, clothed in the directions — to him who is the syllable “Ya”, salutation to Śiva.
